What’s Happening In San Diego: September 5 – 10, 2017

Summer is winding down, the days are growing shorter, and the kids are back in school! For all those happy parents out there, perhaps it’s time to find a babysitter and schedule a date night. This week you will find plenty to do in San Diego and the surrounding communities.  Here is a sampling of some fun events for the first full week of September.

September 8-10, 2017:  The 2017 Horrible Imaginings Film Festival at the Museum of Photographic Arts.  This year’s festival kicks off with a focus on local filmmakers with the San Diego Creator Spotlight, then continues through the weekend with nearly 70 short features, films and events.  This event promises some “out of there content.”

September 9, 2017:  South Bay Pride Art & Music Festival at Chula Vista’s Bayside Park.  This one day event offers is a celebration of creative works, diverse tunes and the LGBT community featuring eclectic bands & DJs, arts and craft exhibitors, flame-grilled fare, and LGBT informational booths. Until  8:00pm, there will be dancing, food vendors, wine garden and live music.

September 9, 2017: San Diego Blues Fest at the Embarcadero Marina Park North. From 12 noon to 8:00pm, provides great blues music at an affordable price.  This year, Blues legend, Mavis Staples will be headlining.

September 7, 2017:  Taste of Del Mar.  From 5:00 – 8:00  walk around the quaint Del Mar Village and indulge in  food from 26 local restaurants and enjoy a sample of selections from 16 of California’s finest breweries and wineries.  Tickets range from $30-$40 dollars for this popular event.

September 9, 2017:  Carlsbad Brewfest at Holiday Park. From 5:00-8:00 here is another spectacular event in popular Carlsbad to sample some of the best beers and food the area offers.  With over 64 varieties of beer, cider and Kombucha not to mention live music, food trucks and more, you will discover why this in one of North County’s most sought after events.  $50 entrance fee includes it all.
